Siriporn Wattana

Chiang Mai · Retired teacher, 58

"I spent a week hesitating before enrolling in the income strategies course. I was worried the content would talk down to me or skip over things I actually needed to know. It did neither. The bond ladder section was something I had to sit with for two days, but it made sense in the end — and I appreciated that nobody rushed me."

Prayong Limsiri

Bangkok · Engineer, 47

"I took the rental income course because I own a condominium unit in Sukhumvit and honestly had never thought carefully about the actual yield. The calculation modules were sobering but necessary. I now have a much clearer sense of what I actually earn after costs — and what I should set aside. Would have liked slightly more coverage of depreciation, but overall this was time well spent."

Natchanon Chaisuwan

Khon Kaen · Business owner, 53

"The whole-portfolio course took me four months to complete — about twice the suggested pace. I was not embarrassed by that. The material encouraged me to go at my own speed, and revisiting the withdrawal sequencing section after I had digested the reserve layering content made both clearer. The personal income document I produced at the end is something I actually use."

Malai Rungsawang

Pattaya · Nurse, 44

"What I found most valuable was that the income strategies course did not pretend everything was straightforward. The module on the difference between a fund's headline yield and its sustainable distribution was something I had never seen explained that directly before. I came away with a much more realistic picture than I had going in — and I think that is the point."

Thavorn Kittipong

Bangkok · Civil servant, 61

"I am 61, approaching the end of my government service, and I enrolled in the whole-portfolio course primarily for the mentor conversations. Both sessions were thoughtful. The specialist did not push me toward any product and was willing to say 'I don't know, but here is how to find out' when that was the honest answer. That was refreshing."

Apinya Panit

Ubon Ratchathani · Pharmacist, 49

"My main concern about online learning was that I would not be able to ask questions when something was unclear. The support team responded within a day each time, and in Thai when I needed that. The rental income course gave me the framework to finally look at my Ubon property clearly. I have made one decision already as a result."

Three participant journeys

The Situation

Wanchai, 55, a secondary school administrator in Nakhon Ratchasima, had reached fifty with a provident fund balance, a small savings account, and no clear picture of what his income would look like in retirement. He had read articles about investment but found them either too generic or too optimistic.

The Course

Wanchai completed the whole-portfolio course over five months. The section on sequence-of-withdrawal risk was, by his account, the most important thing he read. He used both optional mentor conversations — the first to discuss his provident fund options, the second after completing his income architecture document.

What Changed

He now has a written income plan that distinguishes between different layers of his retirement income, and knows which assets to draw from first and under what circumstances. He has since taken that document to a licensed adviser for implementation review.

The Situation

Ratchanee, 48, a dentist practicing in Phuket, inherited a condominium from her parents and had been renting it without any systematic approach to the finances. She was aware the yield was probably lower than she assumed, but had not done the calculation properly.

The Course

She took the rental income course over eleven weeks. The yield estimation modules required her to face some figures she had been avoiding. The tax treatment section revealed a filing approach she had not previously used, which was relevant to her situation.

What Changed

She now has a clear annual net yield figure for her property, a maintenance reserve in place, and a firmer view on whether she wants to hold the property long term. She is still deciding, but the decision is now informed rather than deferred.

The Situation

Somwang, 62, a retired army officer in Bangkok, had a modest pension, some savings in bank deposits, and a long-standing worry that his money would not last as long as he would. He was skeptical of financial education courses generally, having been disappointed by one in the past.

The Course

Somwang began with the income strategies course, which he completed in eight weeks. He described the dividend fund classification section as "the first time I have understood what I was actually holding." He then enrolled in the whole-portfolio course six weeks later.

What Changed

By his account, the combination of courses reduced a background anxiety about money that had been present for some years. He does not describe himself as financially confident — but he says he understands his situation well enough to make decisions with clarity rather than avoidance.
